Here at Batters Box KC we take a personal and tailored approach to instruction. We believe that each players strengths and weaknesses are unique and their training should reflect that. We not only strive to be adaptive but interactive in our instruction as well. An important part of our philosophy on training is to do so through understanding. Our goal is not only to develop athletes that have the physical skills needed to be successful but to help develop the mental side of their game as well.
Bubby Williams is the lead instructor here at Hit Factory KC. Bubby played college baseball at Crowder College and was the 11th round draft pick of the Houston Astros in the 2009 MLB Draft. After catching in professional baseball for 6 years, Bubby went on to become Founder of the Old School Ducks Baseball program which currently consists of 9 teams from 6 years old up to 18 years old. Bubby specializes in hitting, pitching, and catching.

Dyllon Williams played Division II baseball at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. He has experience as a catcher and played three different infield positions in college. Following his playing career, he started coaching with the Old School Ducks Baseball program and is now the Head Coach of the Ducks 18U team and is now Vice President of the Ducks program. Dyllon specializes in hitting, fielding, and catching.

Blair Shanks is originally from Kearney, MO, and played high school softball at Kearney High School. At Kearney, she was named to the All-State Missouri Softball Team. After high school, Blair played college softball at Benedictine College as an outfielder and served as a team captain. While at Benedictine, Shanks set a new career hits and doubles record for the program. She was also named to the All-Heart Of America Conference Softball Team three years in a row. Blair’s works in all areas of softball and her expertise includes hitting and fielding.

Kirk Pruitt is from St. Louis and played high school baseball at Cardinal Ritter College Prepatory. Following high school, Kirk played college baseball at Texas Southern University and Park University as a switch hitting outfielder and middle infielder. He has also been head coach of the KC Arsenal Showcase baseball team for the past 3 years. Kirk specializes in hitting and fielding.

Derek Watkins is originally from Nashville, Tennessee, where he played alongside Mookie Betts at John Overton High School. Derek started his college career at Kansas City Kansas Community College before competing in the NAIA College World Series with Bellevue University. He finished his college career at Park University the following season. Derek has a degree in Fitness and Wellness and specializes in pitching. Watkins is now the Pitching Coordinator of the Old School Ducks Baseball Organization and is an assistant coach at Kansas City Kansas Community College.
